FOUNDER AND CEO
Debra Mallet, the Founder and Ceo of White Sky Capital, is a highly experienced professional with a unique and diverse career that spans over four decades. Born in 1956 in Longview, Washington, Debra has lived a life marked by a strong work ethic, a commitment to growth, and an unwavering dedication to her personal and professional values.
After graduating from Castle Rock High School in 1974, Debra pursued a career that initially took her into the world of business and law. She attended Business College in Portland, Oregon, from 1974 to 1976, where she specialized in court reporting. Debra’s early career began in 1976 as an Official Court Reporter for Josephine County, Oregon. Her role involved transcribing legal proceedings with precision, a skill that would become the foundation of her career in the legal and judicial field. She served in this capacity until 1978, after which she transitioned to a position with Cowlitz County, Washington.
From June 1978 to December 1980, Debra worked as both a Secretary for the Superior Court Judge and a Juvenile Court Reporter in Cowlitz County. Her exceptional work and dedication led to her promotion to Official Court Reporter for the Superior Court of Cowlitz County in January 1981, a role she held until February 2005. During this time, Debra gained invaluable experience in managing complex legal documentation and building relationships within the legal community.
After a distinguished tenure as a court reporter, Debra transitioned into freelance work from March 2005 to December 2009, offering her expertise to a variety of clients and continuing to build her reputation as a reliable and skilled professional in the field.
In 2010, Debra took a new direction in her career by pursuing training in laser technology, working part-time for a time while also enhancing her skill set. This willingness to explore new paths showcased her adaptability and lifelong learning mindset. Then, in July 2016, Debra shifted gears once again, taking on a role as a Legal Assistant, where she worked until March 2024, further expanding her professional experience.
Debra’s entrepreneurial spirit began to take shape in 2014 when she began taking real estate classes and training. Her interest in tax liens and deeds grew, leading her to participate in a mentorship program in 2015. This experience ultimately led to the establishment of her own LLC, showcasing her initiative and business acumen. Though faced with health challenges along the way, Debra remains resilient and focused on her goals, now working to resume her entrepreneurial journey.
Outside of her professional life, Debra is a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband, James, have been married for 40 years, since July 1984. Together, they raised a blended family, including James’ three children from a previous marriage and their own daughter, born in 1987. All of their children are college-educated, with three of them holding master’s degrees. This commitment to education and personal growth has always been a key value in Debra’s family.
The Mallets’ decision to start a farming venture was driven by their desire for a lifestyle change that would allow them to be more present for their children. They established a poultry farm, which not only helped them provide for their family but also instilled a strong work ethic in their children.
Debra has a lifelong love for animals, particularly horses and dogs. Growing up with horses, she developed a passion that has lasted throughout her life. To this day, Debra and her daughter continue to ride their Tennessee Walking horses, enjoying camping trips and mountain rides together.
As CEO of White Sky Capital Debra brings a wealth of experience, resilience, and an entrepreneurial spirit to her leadership role. Her diverse background, ranging from legal reporting to real estate and business ownership, gives her a unique perspective on challenges and opportunities. Above all, Debra’s dedication to personal growth, family, and her community drives her forward as she continues to shape the future of her company and her life’s journey.
